Composition :

  Each 100 gm of Neomycin City Contains :-

  Neomycin Sulphate      20 gm

Properties and Indications:

  Neomycin is antibiotic specially active against gram- negative bacteria .Neomycin is absorbed to the extent of about 3% of an oral dose and is Mainly excreted unchanged in the faeces. The oral administration of neomycin is a convenient and safe way of Treating enteric infections due to Gram – negative organisms.

Poultry and Turkeys:

  Neomycin is used in treating bacterial enteric infections   due to E. coli  And salmonella .

Calves and lambs:

 Neomycin is used in treating bacterial enteritis, scour due to E. coli and Salmonella. it is used also in coliform infections of the urinary system of calves .

Dosage and Administration :

  Generally the dose is 10 mg per kg body weight.

Poultry and turkeys:

  1 gm per liter of drinking water continue treatment for 3 to 5 days.

Calves lambs and kids:

  One gm per 50 kg of body weight continue treatment for 3 to 5 days.

Withdrawal Period:

Medicated water should be used as the sole source for drinking and should be used in 24 hours

Storage:

Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.
