Composition:

Each 84 gm contains:

Apramycin sulphate 72.6  gm (Eq. to Apramycin base 50 gm)

Properties:

Apramycin is an aminoglycoside that is a bactericidal against many gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, Pseudomonas, Salmonella, klebsiella, Proteus, Pasturella, Treponema hyodysenteriae, Bordetella bronchiseptica), Staphylococcus and Mycoplasma. Aprasulf- city prevents protein synthesis by susceptible bacteria, presumably by binding to 30S ribosomal subunit.

Indication:

In Poultry: For treatment of colisepticaemia ( colibacillosis ) caused by susceptible strains of  E. coli .

In Calves: For treatment of bacterial enteritis in calves caused by E. coli and Salmonella organisms .

Target Species: Poultry , Calves.

Dosage and Administration:

For Active ingredient:

Poultry: by addition to drinking water, 250- 500 mg Apramcin activity / 1 liters for 5 days ( This is equivalent to an average of 40-80mg apramycin activity per kg body weight ).

Calves: by addition to drinking water, milk, or milk replacer, 20 – 40 mg Apramycin activity / kg body weight daily.

For whole Product:
Poultry: by addition to drinking water, 0.5 – 1 gm / 1 liter for  5 days.

Calves: by addition to drinking water, milk, or milk replacer, 4 -7 gm / 10 liters  & continue treatment for 5 days.

Warning & precautions:

  • Aminoglycoside may cause hypersensitivity reactions in operators following injection, inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact.
  • Caution in renal impairment.
  • Should not be used in birds producing eggs for human consumption.

Contraindication:

  • Hypersensitivity to Apramycin.
  • Aprasulfcity should not be used in cats and in animals with myasthenia gravis.

Side effects:

  • Ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity are a distinct possibility.

Withdrawal time:

Poultry: Slaughter 7 days                Calves: Slaughter 28 days.

Storage condition:

  • In dry and cool place at temperature not exceeding 30˚C.

Packing:

  • Polyethylene bag inside a tin pack 250 gm and 500 gm.
