Composition: –
Each 100 gm of Sulphadimidine Soduim Contains:
Sulphadimidine Sodium 100 gm.
Indications: –
Sulphadimidine Sodium have been used for a wide variety of conditions, particularly colibacillosis (E. coli), Salmonella, Respiratory infections caused by Staplylococcus, and pasteurella spp Causing fowl cholera Foot-rot Caused by (Fusibacterium mecrophorus ) and coccidiosis in poultry.
Chickens, turkeys, and Rabbits: –
Baterial enterits caused by E. coil, salmonella, Respiratory infections, caused by Staphylococci ,E.coli .Fowl cholera caused by pasteurella and cases of Coccidiosis in poultry
Calves, lambs and Goats: –
Scours Respiratory infections.
Foot rot caused by Fusibacterium necrophorus
Toxoplasma abortion and clostridial enterotoxemias in Sheep
Dosage and Administration :-
Orally through dissolving the required amount in drinking water Genelly the dose, is from 55mg –100mg – per kg body weight.
Poultry, turkeys, and Rabbits: –
2 gm / liter of drinking water for 3-5 day.
Calves, lambs and Goats: –
Dose: 0.25 gm/ kg body weight as initial dose at the first day followd by
0.1 gm per kg body weight 3-5 days.
N. B. it is advisable to give potassium citrate as a diuretic after the end of sulphadimidine treatment.
Withdrawal period:
Stop treatment for 10 days slaughtering
